Question 1

Is Ripley Terminal open source?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The entire codebase is open-source and available on GitHub. You can review, audit, and compile the binaries yourself.

Question 2

Are my private keys stored on a server?

Accepted Answer

Never. Your identity is a physical .keys file encrypted with AES-256 and stored locally in your OS protected application data directory. There is no backend database.

Question 3

Why does it say Mandatory Tor Routing?

Accepted Answer

Ripley Terminal ships with a bundled Tor daemon and forces all network requests through the SOCKS5 proxy. If Tor cannot bootstrap, the application will refuse to connect to clearnet, preventing accidental IP leakage.

Question 4

What is Tactical Splintering?

Accepted Answer

Splintering is a defense mechanism against heuristic timing analysis. It recursively breaks large UTXOs into smaller, randomized fragments across new stealth addresses to prevent balance exposure.

Question 5

Can I swap to Bitcoin inside the wallet?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The terminal integrates the kyc.rip Ghost Swap protocol directly. You can originate a trade and it will dispatch your XMR automatically to settle as BTC, ETH, USDT, or other assets.
